Brian has spent nearly his entire professional career focused on strategic technology consulting. After graduating from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Brian moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the Telecommunications Task Force in the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice where he acquired a keen understanding of the telecommunications industry and its impact on market competition. After two years of working in the federal government space, Brian joined the consulting industry and worked for Brite Voice Systems, where he advised and audited telecommunications records for major companies and organizations throughout North America. He went on to earn his MBA at USC’s Marshall School of Business where he focused on Entrepreneurship and was eventually recruited by The Warner Group, a management consulting firm focused on providing communications, information technology and organizational effectiveness advisory services to state and local government agencies throughout the United States.
After Gartner’s acquisition of The Warner Group in 1999, Brian worked on strategic technology, operations and governance projects for local, county and state public safety agencies. Recognizing the unique set of technical, operational, financial and cultural issues facing these clients, Brian sought to help build a firm that would be dedicated to applying best practice management consulting skills to this underserved community. Witnessing firsthand how public safety agencies planned, procured and ultimately utilized technology to improve the safety of first responders and the communities they served, Brian joined his eventual business partner, Michael Thayer, and co-founded DELTAWRX, where dedicated consultants pursue a mission to provide the highest level of service and expertise to assist public safety and general government clients in cost effectively utilizing technology to protect their personnel and communities.
Since 2003, Brian and his colleagues at DELTAWRX have honed this mission to create a culture that always puts clients first. In his 26 years of consulting to hundreds of public safety agencies, Brian has developed and applied a specific skill set focused on Strategic Planning, Needs Assessments, Procurement, Contract Negotiations, Project and Vendor Management to law enforcement, fire, EMS, IT and similar stakeholder groups. As a Partner and Co-Founder of the firm, Brian is focused on the financial viability and health of the firm, however, he spends the majority of his time working on projects with clients so that he is able to stay in touch with the multitude of issues facing public safety agencies and the industry in general. Brian brings a holistic view to all of the clients he serves and understands how to effectively work and communicate with senior command staff as well as frontline level first responders and support staff.
Outside of his profession, Brian’s passions are spending time with his family and friends, attending live music and sporting events, and playing golf. At 6’7”, he also has a major soft spot for bulkhead and/or exit row seats on cross country flights.
